Katy Sampson, Ph.D
With a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Duquesne University, and as a board-certified specialist in school neuropsychology, Dr. Sampson possesses a unique expertise in assessing the intricate relationship between brain/cognitive functions, emotions, and educational performance. Dr. Sampson's educational journey also includes a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York at New Paltz. This diverse background allows Dr. Sampson to seamlessly integrate psychotherapy skills and psychological evaluations, providing a holistic approach to client care.
In addition to private practice, Dr. Sampson serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team providing developmental evaluations for preschool age children for the past 10 years. Working alongside speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists has contributed greatly to the evolution of her understanding of children from a wider variety of perspectives. Dr. Sampson is passionate about early intervention and helping children of all abilities and neurodevelopmental differences access their education and develop to their full potential. She continues to find this work meaningful as early intervention is key to helping children access appropriate educational services and reach their full developmental potential.
Dr. Sampson also has specialized experience working with young adults in a college setting. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral residency in university counseling centers.
